Time for Fun |
It's impossible to tell you about everything I like. That is why I tried to mention only my favourite hobbies.
I spend all my free time reading. I can't imagine my life without world of books, which gives us a fantastic chance to live thousands lifes in one, to feel different emotions. I have a lot of favourite writers. But my idol in literature is an english author Oscar Wilde. I re-read his masrerpieces many times and found something new each time. The collection of his exquisitive aphorisms (or paradoxes) is my handbook. I'm a worshipper of English literature, also I like novels of Dostoevsky, poetry of "The silver age" and works of modern writers - Akunin and Ulitskaya.
I don't have an ear for music, don't play any musical instruments. That is why I prefer to listen to people who have a talent for it. On the whole I listen to pop-music (my favourite singers are Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Robbie Williams), but lately I conceived a passion for classical music. The masterpieces of the greatest composers help me to relax and feel comfortable. My favourite classical music is "Per Hunt" of Grig, "The flower waltz" from the ballet "The Nutcracker" by Tchaikovsky, "Winter" from "The four seasons" of Vivaldi, "Carmen" of Bizet.
A good limbering-up for brain! It's my recent hobby. My grandmother inculcated in me a liking for solving crosswords. She is a true master: any crossword is not a hard nut for her to crack As for me, I'm still learning!
I adore cinema and theatre. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time for this pleasure. That is why every cultural outing (especially, going to the theatre, where I'm a rare guest) is a real celebration! My favourite play is лFrederic, or the boulevard of crime╗ with Sergey Migitsko in the main role. As for my favourite movies, my list of them would be very long. I want to mention only лTitanic╗, лThe driver for Vera╗, лImportance of being earnest╗, лMy fair lady╗, лThe phantom of the opera╗, лThe pokrovsky gates╗ and лThe star╗. My favourite actress is Audrey Hepburn. She was not only a talented actress, but a charming and strong woman. When I look at her, I understand: true beauty comes from within!
For me it's the best way to calm myself. But I haven't knitted any significant Ц all I knitted were rather useless napkins. Now I'm trying to finish knitting summer pull-over. It' a long story because I've reknitted it 3-4 times. Like Penelope!
I play tennis a bit, go in for shaping just a little and swim awfully. As you can see, I'm not much of a sportswoman, but I'm a sport fan. I have been supporting "Zenit" for three years, I always keep up with Russian national teams in tennis and figure skating, watch Olympic games. I extremely worry about our sportsmen. On the whole I try to support Russian sport if only as a confirmed fan!
I adore travelling. It's so interesting for me to open new countries, make the acquaintance of foreign culture. For the present the list of countries I have visited is not very long: there are Spain, Finland, Denmark, Sweden. I liked Copenhagen: it's really a city from Andersen's fairy-tales which all we read in our childhood. But my favourite city (except Saint-Petersburg: it's always on the first place!) is Barcelona. It amazed me with uncommonness and mixture of different styles, and Gaudi's works, especially the Guel Park and Sagrada Familia, astounded me. I think that Antonio Gaudi is a genius! His stunning buildings can't leave people unmoved. It's not even architecture, it's a life and poetry in stone!
